Wood Scores 1103 in Extra Time to Give Colorado 1-0 Series Lead
The Colorado Avalanche overcame a 3-goal deficit to defeat the Dallas Stars 4-3 in overtime in Game 1 of their second-round series on Wednesday night.
Miles Wood scored the game-winning goal at 11:03 of overtime, assisted by Nathan MacKinnon and Valeri Nichushkin.
The Avalanche trailed 3-0 in the second period, but MacKinnon scored a power-play goal at 15:11 to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Colorado tied the game with two goals in the third period. Mikko Rantanen scored a power-play goal at 6:42, and MacKinnon scored his second of the night at 15:01.
Pavel Francouz made 37 saves for the Avalanche, while Jake Oettinger made 42 saves for the Stars.
The Avalanche are now 1-0 in the series, while the Stars are 0-1.
