City to face off against Al-Hilal in the West Zone group stage
Indian Super League (ISL) club Mumbai City FC has been drawn with Brazilian star Neymar's Al-Hilal in the West Zone group stage of the AFC Champions League.
The draw was held in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, August 25, and saw Mumbai City placed in Group B alongside Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab, and Al-Rayyan.
It will be the first time that an Indian club will face off against Neymar, who joined Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain earlier this year.
The AFC Champions League is the premier club competition in Asia, and Mumbai City will be hoping to make a strong impression in their first appearance in the tournament.
The Islanders will begin their campaign against Al-Shabab on April 8, 2023, before facing Al-Hilal on April 12.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage, and Mumbai City will be hoping to qualify for the Round of 16 for the first time.
