Assam exit polls 2023: BJP likely to retain power, predict most surveys

Exit polls have predicted a comfortable victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Assam assembly elections 2023. Two exit polls, however, have predicted a hung assembly in the state.
According to the exit polls by India Today-Axis My India, the BJP is likely to win 69-81 seats in the 126-member Assam assembly. The Congress is predicted to win 25-35 seats, while the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) is likely to win 11-19 seats. The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) is predicted to win 10-18 seats.
The exit poll by News18-IPSOS has predicted a slightly different outcome. According to this exit poll, the BJP is likely to win 70-80 seats, while the Congress is likely to win 32-42 seats. The AIUDF is predicted to win 10-18 seats, while the AGP is likely to win 7-15 seats.
Two exit polls have predicted a hung assembly in Assam. According to the exit poll by Jan Ki Baat, the BJP is likely to win 59-67 seats, while the Congress is likely to win 50-58 seats. The AIUDF is predicted to win 5-9 seats, while the AGP is likely to win 2-6 seats.
The exit poll by CVoter has also predicted a hung assembly in Assam. According to this exit poll, the BJP is likely to win 52-62 seats, while the Congress is likely to win 56-66 seats. The AIUDF is predicted to win 3-7 seats, while the AGP is likely to win 2-6 seats.
The vote counting for the Assam assembly elections 2023 will begin on Thursday, May 2.
